Client Goals & Ambitions

The brief was clear: a functional, cost-effective home on a newly subdivided section, built to a quality standard within a tight budget. The owners wanted a low-maintenance property designed as a long-term rental investment, one that maximised value without ever compromising on workmanship or durability.

Challenges

Delivering a high-quality home on a strict budget meant every decision counted. Materials had to be durable and high-performing, chosen for excellent long-term value rather than short-term savings. The site added its own complexity: river-run gravel called for a piled foundation with a RibRaft concrete slab system. Throughout it all, the standard of workmanship had to hold, without the project slipping over budget.

How We Overcame These Challenges

We managed the budget carefully, protecting build quality at every step. Material selection focused on quality, low-maintenance options that would deliver long-term durability and value. The foundations were engineered to suit the site's river-run gravel conditions, using a piled foundation and RibRaft slab. Efficient project management and scheduling kept construction moving smoothly, with no significant delays.

Why This Project Was a Success

The home was completed on time and within the agreed budget, with zero client variations, a result of thorough planning and clear communication from the outset. We achieved a high standard of workmanship while keeping the build cost-effective. Constructed from durable, low-maintenance materials, it makes an ideal "lock up and leave" investment property, giving the owners a quality rental home designed to deliver reliable, long-term returns with minimal ongoing maintenance.
